Audience Conductor SE RCA Interconnect (Pair)

$784.00$830.00

Conductor cables are a high performance to price ratio, entry level cable by Audience. Like all cables by Audience, the Conductor line is designed for low eddy-current resistance. We have found low eddy-current resistance to be the most important quality in high-resolution audio and video cables. The Conductor cables are very flexible, making them easy to install in tight spaces. To achieve greater sonic purity, the physical design leans towards simplicity. Our ultra-simple Au24 RCA connectors maintain this simplicity. Subjectively, a natural musical timbre is realized. Tonally, there is a family resemblance with the Au24 interconnects with only slightly less resolution.

The Conductor High Resolution cables are an excellent choice when high resolution, tonally pleasing sound reproduction is desired while staying within budget.

Audience Ohno RCA Interconnect (Pair)

Audience Ohno RCA Interconnect (Pair)

$244.00$372.00

Audience OHNO cables are designed to achieve the very highest level of performance at an entry level price. OHNO cables are named after Dr. Atsumi Ohno who invented the method of manufacturing mono-crystal wire, a highly sophisticated process of producing wire without the crystalline barriers found in all conventional wire. Whereas copper typically exhibits thousands of crystals per meter, as audio signals move through this maze, energy is lost at every crystalline juncture. OHNO copper is a single crystal providing an unobstructed path for transmission of the purest audio signal. OHNO cables are made with XLPE (cross linked polyethylene), one of the very best insulations for high end audio cables.

$54.95$199.95
Contrary to their name, Black Labs’ heritage actually traces back to Newfoundland in the 1700s, when they were first known as “Saint John’s Dogs.” When this large Newfoundlandbased breed was mixed with smaller water dogs, the result is the dog now known as the Labrador. Labradors (Black or otherwise) are known for their dedication to duty, their highly developed sense of smell and hearing, and their endless capacity for playing “fetch” (they are “retrievers” after all!). These traits combine to make Labradors excellent service dogs for the handicapped as well as wonderful pets.

$219.95$725.95
The Boxer breed originated in Germany in the late 19th century and was brought to the US after World War I. Today, Boxers are a part of the AKC’s Working Dog Group. Don’t be fooled by that “worried” look on a Boxer’s face. Boxers are known for their fun-loving, genial, and at times downright clown-like demeanor, as well as their remarkable rapport with children. However, Boxers are equally known for courage in the face of danger, or threat to family or loved ones. The Boxer’s innate intelligence, combined with its natural strength of stature, makes it a breed beloved by many.

Every March 17 on St. Patrick’s Day, New York City merely paints a green line down the center of its Fifth Avenue parade route—a stunt easily pulled off by any city—but only Chicago dyes an entire river the perfect shade of emerald green to honor Irish culture. Why green? Thanks to Ireland’s lush vegetation, the island is often lovingly referred to as the Emerald Isle. To the Irish, a green display of pride is not to be taken lightly. In the United States, even those of non-Irish descent know to wear green clothing on St. Patrick’s Day, or else be playfully pinched by an Irish friend or colleague! But it’s one thing to don a green shirt or tie, another thing altogether to transform a 156-mile long river. Chicago’s Stephen M. Bailey, the man who orchestrated the transformation, boasted that he’d turn the River Chicago into the River Shannon (Ireland’s longest) for a day, and, eventually, he did.

There was no specific recipe for successfully dyeing a river. A bit of trial and error was required. Initially, over 100 pounds of dye was used, and the river stayed green for a week! In the second year, 50 pounds of dye kept the river green for three full days. In the third year, it was found that using 25 pounds of dye would turn the river green for a single day. Two years later, environmental concerns led to the formation of a new vegetable-based dye that produces a perfect sea of green and lasts for four or five hours—40 pounds of the stuff does the trick. Following suit across the nation, major canals, minor creeks, city blocks, drinking fountains, and even the Presidential Fountain at the White House are dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day—all thanks to the wonderful example set in Chicago.

Consider this simple fact: Even the smallest flowers crack concrete. It’s enough to make one wonder what might happen if the Earth were freed from humankind’s influence and simply left to its own devices—to regenerate, blossom, and grow wild. What wonders might spring from its soil? Scientists speculate that it would take only a century or two to wipe away the plants, crops, and animal species so carefully fashioned by humankind’s industrious hand. In a few thousand years, the world might look exactly as it did before humanity came along: a wilderness. Take, for instance, New York City, considered by many the greatest city on Earth. Without humankind’s interference, the repeated thawing and freezing of spring and winter would, within a decade, shatter the city’s cement skin, allowing water to seep deep into the fertile ground below. Cracks would widen, deepen, and provide the soil from which exotic plant species, such as New York’s prolific Chinese ailanthus tree, would grow. Within as little as five years, ailanthus roots would heave up the sidewalks and course through the sewers, while native Virginia creeper and poison ivy would adorn the city’s skyscrapers. Within two decades, the water-soaked steel columns that support the street above the city’s vast subway tunnels would give way, quickly transforming Lexington Avenue into a mighty river. Coyotes would find shelter in Central Park, to be soon followed by deer, bears, and wolves. Large oak trees would cover the land, while hawks and falcons would soar through the skies. But let’s not forget: We are also a product of Earth’s rich soil, sharing even the most majestic creature’s ability to strengthen, diversify, and cultivate the land; to create a world fi t for work and play, where we can share happiness and nurture life. Indeed, Earth is a reservoir of such life, a treasure chest overflowing with the elements—the rocks, metals, clay, and other ingredients—with which we build our villages and cities, our most modest shelters and most breathtaking monuments: the skyscrapers that part the highest clouds, tunnels that connect the farthest lands, and bridges that cross the widest rivers. That the smallest flower can display as much strength as the tallest skyscraper is not an indictment against humanity. Instead, it is a testament to humankind’s vast potential: to engineer a beauty rivaled only by Earth’s natural magnificence.

Audioquest Fire 72v DBS Analog-Audio Interconnect Cable: Rivers & Elements

Audioquest Fire 72v DBS Analog-Audio Interconnect Cable: Rivers & Elements

$3,249.95$16,999.95
Technically speaking, fire is not an object, but an event: the rapid oxidation of a material in the chemical process of combustion by which heat and light are released into the surrounding environment. What we typically think of as “fire”—the often mysteriously beautiful and strangely hypnotic fireplace flicker of white, yellow, or red-orange glow—is actually just the visible part of the fire’s flame, containing the superheated byproducts of the fire’s incomplete exothermic reaction giving off visible light as excess energy is released. Interestingly, the cherry-red flame of a smoldering campfire measures somewhere around 700˚ Celsius; the deep orange flame of a candle, lit at a bedside or suffusing a living room with gentle aroma, typically burns at around 1000˚ Celsius; and the dazzling white flame created by a meteor as it enters Earth’s atmosphere can often exceed 1500˚ Celsius! While fire is commonly considered to be a destructive event, it can also be a very effective tool for managing and enhancing fields, forests, and wetlands: Native Americans discovered that while fire killed woody plants, it encouraged the growth of fruit-bearing shrubs and forage-producing grasslands. Of course, fire’s unique potential has been known for some time: It’s likely that humans began using fire to heat food approximately 1 million years ago. Among the classical elements, fire is commonly associated with energy, assertiveness, and passion. In Greek Mythology, the cult hero Prometheus defied the gods by providing humanity the gift of fire, thereby enabling progress and civilization. People born under the astrological signs of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are thought to have fire personalities: They are enthusiastic, extroverted, and, like our good friend Prometheus, they are rebellious, passionate, brave, and valiant. It’s no wonder that we have for so long been drawn to fire. A thing to be feared, respected, and loved, fire is that which drives us into the unknown, lights our way through darkness, and signals our way back home.

Though its combination of long legs, deep chest, flexible spine, and slender build make it an excellent hunting and racing breed, capable of reaching speeds in excess of 64 kilometers per hour (40 MPH), the gentle, intelligent greyhound would just as well spend its day simply and quietly enjoying long naps in the soft shade. Greyhounds rarely bark, are very patient, show great devotion and affection toward their families, and exhibit a surprisingly friendly attitude toward people and other dogs. But don?t be misled by their distinctly slim conformation: Greyhounds are in fact exceedingly healthy, powerful animals, and they make loyal, loving companions for people young and old.
