Delphi Mk VII Signature
The mere fact that something is beautiful doesn’t mean one should not try to make it even prettier! This is the challenge we recognized and accepted when developing the Signature concept. The Delphi turntable has always been perceived as a work of art and for the Mk VI Signature we have introduced lighting effects that outline the turntable’s sculptural structure! The different choices of available colors and their combinations will allow you to create a visual environment that is “Any color you like”, matching perfectly with the mood of the moment!
The clear transparent base of the Delphi Mk VII Classic was always meant to reflect the floating character of the Delphi’s reading apparatus, a free-standing sculpture that floats in thin air! The black acrylic base of the Signature version reflects the aluminum structure onto its surface and has it to stand out with very high contrast.
The lighting effects of the sub-chassis and the acrylic base are independently selected with the supplied remote control.
- Tripedal suspension: The sub-chassis, platter, and tonearm assembly rest on a three-point floating suspension system to isolate the unit from external vibrations. This system uses multiple mechanical filters within each suspension tower to prevent external disturbances from coloring the sound.
- Micro-Vibration Stabilizer System (MVSS): A highly innovative silicone damping system that captures and dissipates micro-vibrations within the sub-chassis itself. The MVSS uses adjustable plungers that dip into reservoirs of low-viscosity silicone fluid to provide an added layer of vibration control, resulting in superior stylus stability and accuracy.
- Delrin adjustable feet: The turntable’s feet are made from Delrin, a high-strength thermoplastic, which provides excellent vibration damping and sonic balance by further isolating the turntable from its support surface.
- Two-piece platter assembly: The 4 kg (8.8 lb) platter is composed of two pieces, which reduces resonance and simplifies belt installation. Most of the platter’s mass is concentrated at the outer edge to maximize the flywheel effect for consistent rotational momentum and speed stability.
- Record clamping system: The Mk VII uses Oracle’s proprietary clamping system, a feature since the first Delphi turntable in 1979. It firmly couples the record to the platter, solving vinyl disc warp issues and improving sound quality.
- Advanced bearing system: The main bearing features a non-metallic, glass-filled Torlon thrust plate, which offers superior wear resistance and minimizes noise generated by the platter’s rotation. The bearing also uses a dual tripod design with six precision-machined screws for maximum rotational accuracy.
- Sophisticated motor drive: A low-voltage AC synchronous motor features a dual-current drive with impedance-matched internal windings. Military-grade capacitors and a precision calibration stage in the drive module ensure smoother motor pulsations and minimal vibration.
- Contrasting chassis and plinth: The Signature model features a black acrylic plinth, which contrasts with the hand-brushed aluminum/magnesium alloy floating chassis. This design accentuates the turntable’s sculptural appearance.
- Lighting effects: Exclusive to the Signature, subtle lighting is incorporated into the design to outline the turntable’s floating, skeletal structure.
- Optional power supply: The Mk VII performs best with the optional Turbo Power Supply Mk II, which significantly reduces electrical noise (ripple) to less than one millivolt. The cleaner power supply results in enhanced dynamics, inner detail, and tonal accuracy.
- Dynamic contrast
- Inner detail and resolution
- Harmonic integrity and tonal balance
- Transient attack and decay
- Stereo imaging and clarity
