Main Monitor Performance in a Compact Footprint
The PMC 6-2 is an advanced 3-way design with an astonishing size-to-performance ratio, capable of producing a maximum peak SPL of 121dB at 1 meter. This high output level, combined with its compact dimensions, makes it an excellent choice for mid-sized control rooms, mobile recording trucks, or as an essential component in immersive audio systems.
Proprietary Acoustic Technologies
PMC’s unique engineering ensures a natural, uncolored sound that minimizes listener fatigue and ensures mixes translate across the world outside the studio:
- Advanced Transmission Line (ATL™): This proprietary bass-loading technology uses a 2-meter (6.6ft) internal labyrinth to absorb unwanted frequencies and enhance the low-frequency output. The result is tight, deep bass down to 33Hz without the distortion or “ringing” associated with traditional ported designs.
- Laminair™ Airflow Technology: Hexagonal vents, visible on the front baffle, ensure smooth, laminar airflow at the port exit, reducing air turbulence and enhancing dynamics and efficiency.
- N-Compass™ Waveguide: The midrange driver is mounted within this distinctive waveguide, which optimizes dispersion to create a wide, stable sweet spot and a coherent, linear response across the room.
Powerful Amplification and Intelligent DSP
The PMC 6-2 is a fully tri-amped system, with dedicated next-generation Class-D amplifiers for each driver, providing immense power and precise control:
- Quad Amplification: The system utilizes four 400W amplifiers per monitor (1600W total), with two for the dual LF drivers, one for the MF driver, and one for the HF tweeter.
- Integrated DSP: A sophisticated digital signal processor manages the highly accurate crossovers, driver protection, and extensive EQ options. Control is accessed via rear-panel encoders or the intuitive SoundAlign™ web interface (via RJ45 network port) from a computer or tablet, allowing for precise room calibration.

The monitor offers flexible inputs, including a switchable XLR port for both analog and digital AES3 signals (up to 192kHz). For a full-range system with even greater headroom and low-frequency extension down to 25Hz, the
PMC 6-2 can be seamlessly integrated with a matching PMC 8-2 SUB by activating a dedicated XBD mode in the DSP software.
